VAP in Physics at Randolph College in VA

The Department of Physics at Randolph College (founded as Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1891), an independent, selective liberal-arts institution, invites applications for a one-semester (spring 2012) visiting position in Physics. This position will possibly be renewable for the 2012-2013 academic year. A Ph.D. in Physics is preferred, with any sub-field. Teaching responsibilities include introductory physics, calculus or algebra based, and an upper-level class to be negotiated. Teaching load is three courses per semester. Applicants with teaching experience will be given priority.

Candidates should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and evidence of teaching effectiveness, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent to: Professor Peter Sheldon, Department of Physics. Electronic applications are preferred, but hardcopy applications can be mailed to Randolph College, 2500 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, Virginia 24503. Applications received by October 15 will receive first priority, but later applications will be considered until the position is filled.
