The Department of Physics and the College of Creative Studies (CCS) at the University of California, Santa Barbara are seeking a Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment, with a joint appointment to begin in Fall 2012. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field. This position will involve teaching a range of courses in the Department of Physics, primarily at the introductory level for students of engineering and the sciences, and in CCS, which, with the department, runs an intensive program for gifted and highly motivated majors. The successful candidate will be expected to share responsibility for the CCS program's instruction at all levels, curriculum development, recruiting, and advising. It is our goal to hire a colleague with demonstrated teaching ability who is committed to a career as a leader of our undergraduate programs.
