Farmingdale State College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Physics. The position requires a full teaching load in physics and physical science; research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals; duties in student advisement; curriculum development; and department and college-wide service activities. Excellent communications skills and superb interpersonal skills are imperative.
All faculty members at Farmingdale State College have three workload components: teaching, research and scholarly activity, and service. Service includes advising students as well as serving on departmental and college wide committees. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching. Candidates should have a research agenda that complements their area of academic specialty and has the potential for peer-reviewed publications and presentations, both of which are necessary for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Physics, Completed; Minimum of 1 year experience teaching undergraduate physics, demonstrated record of scholarship in Physics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Post-doctorate degree, experience teaching physical science in a college or university.
Additional Information:
· This is a full-time, 10 month faculty position.
