TT at Rockford U, IL

Rockford University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in physics starting August 2015. A PhD or ABD in experimental physics required. Combined responsibility for introductory and some advanced level physics is required. Also, teaching some mathematics and/or computer science courses is possible, with the potential to expand the current minor in physics. Strengthening the physics laboratory program is an important task. Prior full-time college teaching experience is highly preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching in a small-university liberal arts setting is essential. 

Candidates for the position should send their applications electronically consisting of

  • a recent and detailed curriculum vitae,
  • a teaching statement documenting teaching effectiveness,
  • a research statement proposing a research program viable at a small liberal arts university and accessible to undergraduates,
  • all related transcripts graduate and undergraduate, AND
  • have three letters of recommendation sent (at least 2 letters should address the applicant's ability to teach effectively) separately tophysicssearch@rockford.edu
