The Arts and Sciences Department at Maine Maritime Academy invites 
applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Physics. Candidates
should have a Ph.D. degree in physics, though exceptional applicants 
with a Master's degree will also be considered. The successful
candidate will enthusiastically embrace working with undergraduates in 
classroom and laboratory settings. Teaching expectations include
undergraduate introductory physics courses (algebra- and calculus-based)
 and labs, and occasional electives. Advising undergraduates,
engaging in scholarship activities, and service to the department and 
college are also essential aspects of the position. Candidates from
all areas of physics with a commitment to teaching excellence in 
undergraduate education are encouraged to apply. Screening of applicants
will begin in early December, 2014 and will continue until the position 
is filled. This is a full-time, permanent position at the
Assistant/Associate Professor rank, beginning August, 2015.
