TT at Seton Hall University

The Department of Physics at Seton Hall University invites applications to fill a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position beginning the Fall 2010 semester. We seek a candidate who demonstrates excellence in teaching lecture and laboratory courses at all levels especially to students of varied backgrounds. The candidate is expected to improve teaching laboratories and upgrade their facilities. A Ph.D. in Physics or related field is required. Preferences will be given to candidates with experimental condensed matter background or a related field but other areas of expertise will also be considered. The candidate is expected to build an on campus research program, successfully seek sponsored research grants, involve undergraduate students in scholarly activity, andshould be willing to teach in the University’s interdisciplinary core curriculum. The position is subject to final budgetary approval. Seton Hall, the oldest Catholic diocesan university in the US, is located 14 miles west of Manhattan, in South Orange, New Jersey and an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students.
