Non-TT at Nagoya University

The Global 30 International Programs of Nagoya University Fundamental and Applied Physics Program seeks to fill two full-time, non-tenure-track, Associate or Full Professor positions. One of the successful candidates will work in Graduate School of Science (Department of Physics) and the other will work in Graduate School of Engineering (Department of Applied Physics). They will teach maximum 8 courses* per year each, including possible evening and weekend classes. As a full-time faculty, they will be expected to hold office hours, provide academic advising for students and perform the normal duties associated with teaching. (*In Japan one course is equivalent to one 90 minute lecture per week for 15 weeks) The initial contract will be starting on September 1, 2011, and terminating on August 31, 2014. On October 1, 2011, the first international course students will be entering, and the teaching will be starting then. Contingent upon job performance, the contract may be renewable for an additional three-year term.

Salary: JPY 5,500,000-10,000,000/year (all inclusive, such as taxes, health insurance, daily commuting expenses, etc.); commensurate with qualifications and experience, based upon institutional policy.
