Be among the first to join NU’s accomplished international faculty, a cohort of educators and researchers who have come together to lead the newest English-language research and teaching institution in Eurasia.
NU has been created in Astana—Kazakhstan’s modern, rapidly-growing capital city—through a partnership of major world-class universities, some of the most recognized names in international HE, coming together to build a unique western-style Kazakhstani institution. From this collaboration, we envisage opportunities for research collaborations, student and faculty exchange programs, joint curriculum development plans, and a host of other activities to propel Nazarbayev University to world-class status.

Last fall, NU opened with 500 top students selected competitively from across Kazakhstan by our international partners; total enrollment will double for fall 2011. NU’s undergraduate and graduate student body will eventually reach 8000, and its faculty will grow accordingly. The School of Science and Technology seeks applicants with Ph.D. or terminal degree at all ranks for fulltime positions in a wide range of disciplines, including the first Physics posts in the Department of Physics Responsibilities include (but will not be limited to): teaching classes; curriculum, program and course development; providing departmental guidance and leadership, and conducting research, an important criterion for selection in all disciplines. All faculty positions are scheduled to start no later than July 2011, with the possibility of earlier contract start dates. Nazarbayev University offers an attractive benefits package, including:
