TT at Utah Valley University

The Utah Valley University (UVU) Physics Department invites applications for a tenure-track position in physics, with a specialty in medical physics, health physics or biophysics at the assistant professor level beginning 1 July 2011. The Department offers a bachelor’s degree in physics. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching across the physics curriculum at the undergraduate level. Typical teaching loads are 12 credit hours/semester. Preference will be given, however, to the candidate who can mentor undergraduate students through research in a field of current interest. Small amounts of internal funding are available. Faculty are encouraged to develop external support. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in medical physics, health physics, or physics with experience in medical physics or biophysics. The Physics Department currently has nine full time faculty members with research interests in astrophysics, particle physics, geophysics, plasma physics, thermoacoustic physics and solid state physics.
