West Kentucky Community and Technical College invites applications for a full-time, 10-month contract faculty position beginning August 1, 2011. WKCTC is a comprehensive two-year institution located in Paducah, KY. The University of Kentucky College of Engineering Program in Paducah which offers degrees in chemical and mechanical engineering is also located on the campus.

Position is responsible for teaching a variety of physics and astronomy lectures and labs, including on-line courses. Course load will include, but is not limited to, Introductory Physics, University Physics, Statics, and Thermodynamics, as well as a variety of Astronomy courses. Position must work collaboratively on the development of course materials and pedagogies designed to engage students in active learning processes in preparation for acceptance to the University of Kentucky engineering program.

Faculty workloads include student advising, service on a variety of committees, community service, and various departmental activities that may include course development and evaluation, mentoring adjunct faculty, and student outcome assessment.

Successful candidate will be knowledgeable, enthusiastic and well-rounded in advanced technological applications. A master's degree in Physics or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate level hours in physics required. Doctorate preferred.
