Job Description:
The Department of Chemistry and Physics within Feinstein College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a new tenure-track position within the Department at the rank of Assistant Professor of Physics beginning Spring 2012 or Fall 2013. At present, the physics faculty in the Department consists of one tenured full Professor and four Adjunct Faculty members.
Primary responsibilities include: teaching introductory algebra and calculus based physics, lecture and lab courses for science, engineering, and architecture majors; developing physics courses for the General Education Program; and involving undergraduates in research in any area of physics. The candidate will also have the opportunity to develop the physics laboratory curriculum.

Requirements:
In general, all tenure-track RWU faculty must demonstrate effectiveness in the following four categories: 1) teaching; 2) scholarly, professional and/or creative activities; 3) academic advising and program development and 4) institutional and/or community service.
A Ph.D. in physics is required. Evidence of successful teaching experience is required. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Candidates must also present evidence of an on-going program of scholarly/creative activity.
