Job Description:

The Assistant Professor teaches pre-calculus, calculus, and calculus-based physics, including MCAT-oriented sections for premedical and health studies majors, and coordinates physics labs. Service activities relate to the Premedical and Health Studies majors, including contributions to the MCAT preparation course, Pre-Health Advisory Board, and student mentoring. Scholarship activities result in conference presentations, publishable manuscripts, and peer-reviewed instructional materials. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

Required: A PhD in mathematics, physics or a related discipline; ABD candidates near degree completion will be considered; college teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence in both mathematics and physics disciplines, and a commitment to undergraduate education; excellent communication and organization skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse student population; a record of scholarly activities commensurate with appointment at the assistant professor level.

Desired: Experience with pre-health student advising and degree programs; experience in online instruction and developing online courses.
