California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for tenure-track positions to begin August 2011 in the areas listed below. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and learning. A terminal degree in the field indicated is preferred, although candidates with a master's degree who are working toward a terminal degree may be considered. Teaching responsibilities will include lower-division physics courses for science and engineering majors, and general education (non-calculus based) students, with the possibility of upper-division physics major courses in the future. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a private, Christian environment, and the ability to conduct a research program involving undergraduates. Special consideration will be given to individuals with the ability to teach astronomy or develop courses of particular relevance for engineering or mathematics majors.
