Lab coordinator at Univ. of Scranton

The Department of Physics and Electrical Engineering seeks to fill a Faculty Specialist position to teach introductory physics labs. This full time position begins January 1, 2012 and is non-tenure track with renewable annual appointments. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with experience teaching physics and/or working in a physics lab. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising the introductory physics laboratory, supervising teaching assistants, teaching introductory physics laboratory sections, grading lab reports and quizzes, holding office hours, overall responsibility for equipment setups, developing new lab experiments and demonstrations, and service to the department.

A degree in physics or related field beyond the baccalaureate is required. Previous experience teaching physics and/or working in a physics lab is desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience.
