Two Non-TTs at St. Cloud University

The physics program invites applications for two fixed-term non-tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level.  The positions start on August 21, 2012.  One position is a full-time position and the other position is a part-time position (.58 FTE).  Salaries are dependent upon experience and qualifications.  Responsibilities:  The successful candidate for the full-time position will be expected to teach undergraduate courses with laboratories at all levels in the academic unit, teach advanced courses in observational and theoretical astronomy, advise students, engage in scholarly activities, and participate in continual development of curriculum and assessment activities.  The responsibilities for the part-time position are the same, except that the candidate will not be expected to teach advanced courses in astronomy.  Qualifications and Experience:  A Ph.D. in physics or astronomy (or ABD with degree completion by August 1, 2012).  Evidence of ability to teach physics effectively at all levels, especially laboratory courses (full-time position qualifications also include evidence of ability to teach effectively in astronomy).  Preference will be given to candidates with research and/or teaching experiences beyond the Ph.D.  Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
