VAP at University of Alaska Fairbanks


The College of Natural Science and Mathematics of the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a one-year Term-funded position of Visiting Assistant Professor for the Department of Physics. Duties will include approximately 12 contact hours per week of teaching physics courses at the introductory and advanced undergraduate level, and coordinating and supervising activities related to labs. Preference will be given to a candidate who has a record of successful teaching beyond TA level, and be comfortable teaching courses that require proficiency with computer programming and simulation.
The Physics Department offers degrees for a comprehensive major at the undergraduate level and MS and Ph.D. in space physics and physics at the graduate level. The department graduates an average of 10 undergraduates, 4 masters and 3 Ph.D. per year, and conducts excellent research and teaching by a team of 14 faculty.
