Physics/Astronomy Instructor #1287 (Readvertising – Previous Applicants Need Not Apply) – This position requires a master’s degree in physics, astronomy or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in physics or astronomy. Two (2) years experience teaching undergraduate physics or astronomy at the community college level is preferred. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are also required. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and undergraduate advising, be skilled in the operation and troubleshooting of routine laboratory instrumentation and technology utilized in introductory physics instruction, lift lab equipment, and be proficient in common PC programs such as Microsoft Office products. Primary responsibilities for this position are student advising/development and participating in course and laboratory planning and development. Applicants must be willing to teach and develop physics or astronomy courses for traditional, on-line, mixed mode, and off-campus delivery with variable schedules at varying instructional locations, including our four campuses and other sites as required for scheduling purposes.
