Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics, invites candidates for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor beginning Academic Year 2013-2014. The department serves more than 120 majors and minors and has concentrations in the areas of physics, biophysics, theoretical physics, dual-degree engineering and education. Teaching responsibilities for the year shall include seven lecture-based courses and a section of Freshman Projects, a one-credit research course taught in the spring semester.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a graduate degree in physics or a related field, and experience in teaching introductory physics to pre-health professional students. Candidates for the position must clearly demonstrate the potential for continued excellence in teaching and have a record of distinguished teaching. The candidate should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
