Lab Technician, Eastern Illinois U

The Physics Department at Eastern Illinois University seeks qualified candidates for a laboratory technician position starting August 1, 2013, subject to available funding.  This position will be 12 months and could be permanent for the right candidate.  The primary responsibility is for setup and take down as well as maintenance and improvement of all laboratory related equipment for the Physics Department. Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Physics or related field by the time of appointment.  A Master’s degree in Physics or a related field is preferred.  The highly competitive candidate will possess significant experience in a machine shop and experience in electronics maintenance and repair.
