3-Year FT Adjunct at Santa Clara State, CA

Purpose
The Department of Physics at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, seeks a full time academic year adjunct lecturer (non-tenure track), for a three-year term beginning in Fall 2015. The selected candidate will be required to teach at least six quarter-long courses in General Physics each year.
Salary$46,200-$48,600 for six courses per year depending on teaching experience; benefits eligible
Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in Physics and experience teaching introductory physics classes at the undergraduate level
Preferred Qualifications
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Teach a course load of at least two courses per quarter and at least 6 courses per academic year.
• Fulfilling all responsibilities associated with the assigned course, including: conducting all assigned class meetings and individual conferences with students, assigning and evaluating student work including exams and written assignments, holding weekly office hours on campus, administering numeric and narrative course evaluations for all courses, and submitting student grades to the Registrar by the designated deadline.
• Fulfilling other necessary instructional or academic duties as may be assigned by the dean or the departmental chair.
