The Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences at ETH Zurich (www.gess.ethz.ch) invites applications for a full professorship in the area of Learning and Technology.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has opened up new opportunities for formal and informal learning in various areas and at all age levels. We are looking for an experienced researcher with a solid background in the cognitive and behavioral sciences, who will contribute to a better understanding of how ICT affects human functioning and learning, and how ICT can be used to support it. The new professor is also expected to be familiar with a broad range of educational technologies, particularly those appropriate for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education at universities. Collaboration with the Center for Educational Development and Technology (LET) is expected. ETH Zurich is a leading university with core academic areas in engineering, the natural sciences, architecture and mathematics, which also appreciates the perspective of the humanities and social sciences in both education and research. It provides excellent research conditions and expects innovative interdisciplinary collaboration across a variety of academic disciplines. Applicants are expected to have high-impact publications in the learning sciences, and they are asked to document their connections to STEM areas.
