TT Physics/Engineering, Atlanta Metropolitan State College

Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Physics/Engineering. Atlanta Metropolitan State College currently serves over 3000 commuting students on a beautifully landscaped campus located 10 minutes south of downtown Atlanta and 15 minutes north of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. 

The Position: 
This is a full-time, tenure track, ten-month faculty position, which reports to the Dean of the Division of Science, Mathematics, and Health Professions. The applicant must have at least two years of effective teaching at the collegiate level, and possess a working knowledge of current trends in science education and educational technologies (e.g. Web-enhanced and/or fully-online instruction). The position also requires advising students, serving on division and college committees, and assisting in the development and improvement of the science curriculum. Applicants should have an established research agenda and be prepared to engage undergraduate students within appropriate projects. 

Qualifications: 
A Master's degree with eighteen graduate semester hours (thirty-quarter hours) in Engineering and/or Physics is required. Familiarity with the RETP program is desired. 

The successful candidate will have experience providing instruction to students from diverse backgrounds, while effectively collaborating and cooperating with other members of the faculty, staff, and administration.

The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the budgetary parameters of the college and of the University System of Georgia.
