The Physics Department invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position starting Fall 2011. Our main selection criterion will be the promise of outstanding teaching. We are seeking candidates vitally interested in teaching undergraduate physics for both majors and non-majors, including upper division lecture and laboratory courses. Appointment is open to strong candidates of any research focus, and individuals who can support our curriculum in the area of astronomy/astrophysics are particularly encouraged to apply. Start-up funds for research will be available and pursuit of external funding for research is encouraged. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to perform professional, university, and community service. Juniata College is a selective liberal arts college of 1500 students located in Huntingdon, PA. The department graduates an average of eight students per year.
