The Shippensburg University Physics Department is inviting applications
for a one year, full time, temporary position, at the Instructor
level, starting in August 2017. Responsibilities include teaching
undergraduate physics lecture and lab courses. Teaching assignments may
include nights and/or weekends as well as distance or continuing
education. In addition, faculty members are expected to perform other
duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining
agreement.
Candidates must be ABD toward a Ph.D. in Physics by
the time of appointment. As part of a successful on-campus interview
process, candidates will be expected to provide a demonstration of
teaching effectiveness at all levels of the physics curriculum and give
evidence of a strong commitment to understanding diverse
populations.
A Ph.D. in Physics by the time of appointment is preferred, as is prior teaching experience.
