FT at Nebraska Wesleyan University

Nebraska Wesleyan University seeks applications to fill a one-year, visiting, full-time position beginning Fall 2017 with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The competitive candidates will be able to teach physics effectively at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum. The instructional assignment may include, but are not limited to, teaching courses in all levels of Physics offered at the college including Conceptual Physics, Algebra and Calculus based Introductory Physics, as well as upper level courses for majors.

We seek candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching, and a commitment to creative instruction in a variety of settings, including lecture, informal problem solving workshops, one-on-one interactions, and laboratory. Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Physics or related discipline required, Ph.D. preferred
  • Experience with teaching a variety of physics lecture courses and labs
  • Willingness to offer office hours and/or availability to students outside of scheduled lecture and labs
  • Demonstrated commitment to student academic achievement
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
