Assistant Professor of Physics
Colorado Mesa University
RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility of the
position is teaching undergraduate physics courses, including
freshman-level service courses and laboratories and upper division
courses for physics majors. The teaching load is 12 credit hours per
semester. A successful candidate will also be expected to maintain a
research program, involve undergraduate students in research,
participate in developing the physics program, perform departmental and
university service and advise students. Teaching may involve online,
hybrid and/or distance delivery modalities. For more information, visit

REQUIRED EDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. from an accredited institution in physics or a
closely related discipline by August 15, 2017. Must possess
effectiveness in teaching, an enthusiasm for working with and an ability
to inspire undergraduate students, and effective communication
skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Postdoctoral teaching and/or research experience preferred.
While
candidates from all areas of physics will be considered, preference
will be given to applicants with backgrounds in experimental
physics or biophysics.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, tenure-track position, beginning August
