The successful candidate will also be willing to work with colleagues to develop a curriculum that can lead to 3-2 articulation agreements with prestigious engineering programs around the country.
The area of specialty is open, but candidates who can contribute to other programs, such as environmental science or chemistry, are especially encouraged to apply.
Virginia Wesleyan is Coastal Virginia's premier private, national liberal arts college, offering 33 majors, 30 minors and seven pre-professional programs. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church and located on a 300-acre wooded campus on the border of Norfolk/Virginia Beach, the College enrolls approximately 1,400 students. The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) and NASA Langley Research Center are nearby, as are the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Applicants should submit, electronically (as a single PDF), a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statements of teaching philosophy and research interests, and a statement on contribution to diversity. Please have these, plus graduate transcripts (unofficial are acceptable at this point), and three letters of reference sent to Ms. Karla Rasmussen, Director of Human Resources, at employment@vwc.edu.
