Laboratory Supervisor/Instructor at Depauw University

The Laboratory Supervisor serves as the supervisor of the Physics and Astronomy Department's laboratories and equipment. This is a full-time, 12-month schedule position. The incumbent also teaches some sections of introductory physics laboratories when student demand requires more lab sections than can be taught by the full-time faculty.
Duties:
Setting up introductory and upper-level physics laboratories;
Preparing lecture demonstrations;
Managing and maintaining laboratory equipment;
Operating the department machine shop;
Assisting the faculty members with the development and maintenance of research laboratory facilities;
Simple repairs of electronic equipment;
Assist with maintenance and operation of equipment at McKim Observatory;
Teach laboratory sections in Physics 103, 104, 120, and 130 as needed:

Other duties at the direction of the Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. degree in Physics (or related science) required;
Demonstrated computer, electronics, and machine shop skills:
Ability to work with people, including faculty members and students, required;
Prior experience in an academic environment preferred.
