VAP and Lecturer at RIT

The Rochester Institute of Technology Department of Physics invites applications for one faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor and one faculty position at the rank of Lecturer. Both positions are 9.5 month, non-tenure track appointments that begin August 23, 2010 and end June 3, 2011. The lecturer position may have the possibility of renewal.

The primary responsibility for these positions is teaching introductory physics in an activity-based, workshop format. The Department of Physics web page is located at http://www.rit.edu/cos/physics/. These positions are subject to available funding. QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: PhD in physics or a closely related discipline, experience teaching introductory physics, and strong communication skills. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States from August 23, 2010 to June 3, 2011.

PREFERRED: Experience teaching in an interactive environment and familiarity with current trends in undergraduate physics education are desirable. Research interests compatible with the Department's current research activities are also desirable.
