Physics - Augustana College invites applications for a professional faculty position to teach and manage our introductory laboratories, beginning August 1, 2013. This is a non-tenure track, annually renewable multi-year position. Responsibilities include teaching introductory labs, supervising undergraduate teaching assistants, equipment management, and safety. A Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering with laboratory teaching experience is preferred. A commitment to undergraduate teaching, advising, and mentoring in a liberal arts setting is required. Our department offers 33 introductory physics lab sections serving approximately 150 students each year, with average size ranging from 12 – 18 students per lab section. The successful candidate will share teaching responsibilities for these sections with the five current faculty members.
