Assistant Professor, Astronomy/Physics-Utah Valley University

Teaches 12 credit hours in each of the Fall and Spring semesters. Engages in appropriate instructional methods and classroom management, including adequate lecture and exam preparation, grading, online record keeping and other standard practices. Participates in teacher improvement activities and learning outcome assessment. Develops a research program utilizing undergraduate students. Mentors students in research projects. Seeks funding for research and student projects. Mentors students collectively through participation in academically relevant activities such as club sponsorship, colloquia, exam preparation sessions, and so forth. Fulfill committee and other department duties as requested and assigned by department chair, college dean and other appropriate university officials.

Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university.
