TT at Middle Tennessee State University

Middle Tennessee State University seeks applicants for a full time, tenure-track faculty appointment in Physics and Astronomy (Position # 156010). The successful candidate must hold a PhD in physics or related area, and qualify for rank of assistant or associate professor. The department offers a B.S. in physics with concentrations in professional physics, applied physics, physics teaching, and astronomy. Candidates must be able to teach upper-division departmental courses and also be passionate about teaching introductory students using innovative pedagogies. Applicants must provide a plan to develop an active research program to fully engage undergraduates. Current departmental strengths include materials research, biomedical optics, sensors, physics education, quantum optics, and acoustics. Excellence in teaching, research and creative activity, and service is expected for all positions. MTSU seeks candidates committed to using integrative technologies in teaching.

Position begins August 1, 2015.
