FT Instructional Faculty, Texas A&M Galveston [Starts January 2015]

Texas A&M University, Galveston Campus (TAMUG) invites applications for a full-time (nine-month/year), non-tenure track position at the Instructional Assistant or Associate Professor level. We seek an individual with at least a M.Sc. or Ph.D. (preferred) in Physics for the position of Physics Laboratory Director. The position is in the Department of Marine Sciences in Galveston. We are specifically looking for a person who will direct the laboratory associated with our College and University physics courses. She/he is expected to design and implement experiments in classical physics utilizing up-to-date technology to reinforce the topics covered in these physics courses, to teach some of the labs and to coordinate the efforts of the laboratory instructors. She/he is expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and will have an opportunity to teach College and University physics courses or other courses appropriate to TAMUG’s marine-maritime programs. The multidisciplinary offerings of the Department of Marine Sciences include all of the physical sciences and oceanography as well as resource management and environmental policy.
