Sabbatical Replacement VAP, Berry College GA

Berry College invites applications for a one-year faculty position in physics beginning August 2016 as a sabbatical leave replacement.  The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor) or Master's (for appointment as instructor) in physics or a closely related field and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate physics teaching.  Teaching duties likely include introductory algebra-based physics (lecture and lab) and upper-division modern physics for a total of 12 contract hours per semester.  The department supports the use of active learning strategies and strongly encourages applications from women and minorities.  Send cover letter, CV, copies of transcripts, statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of reference to: Physics Search c/o Todd Timberlake, Department of Physics, Astronomy & Geology, Berry College, Mount Berry, GA 30149-5004 or electronically to ttimberlake@berry.edu.  Review of applications will begin January 20, 2016 and will continue until the position is filled.
