The Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Houston Downtown (UHD) invites applicants for a full time Lecturer position in Physics beginning in Fall 2019. The position is a 9-month renewable appointment and requires a PhD in Physics.
The primary responsibilities are to teach five Physics classes per semester in the Fall and Spring semesters, including lecture and lab sections of General Physics and University Physics. Additional courses may be taught in keeping with departmental needs and the individual’s area of expertise. The lecturer will work with other Physics Faculty to maintain and improve instructional quality and student success through regular meetings and professional development. The lecturer will also participate in the assessment of Physics courses, working closely with other instructors. Additionally, this faculty member will contribute to the department's overall instructional mission through participation in various activities concerned with the curriculum and programmatic improvement.
