Instructor or Assistant Professor of Physical Science

Duties and Responsibilities: Primary duties 
include undergraduate teaching in physics/physical science (including 
laboratory) as well as academic advisement of undergraduate students. 
Additional duties include: university service such as committee work, 
support of university programs related to the Department of Natural 
Science, and assisting the department in continuous assessment and 
improvement of curriculum. Typical teaching load is 12-15 credit hours 
per semester. Typical courses include: general physical science, Earth 
& space science, algebra-based physics I & II and possibly other
 interdepartmental general education courses.
Qualifications: Masters degree required.  Ph.D. 
preferred.  The successful candidate should demonstrate effective 
communication and instructional skills appropriate for undergraduate 
students in introductory level science courses.  The successful 
candidate is expected to have an aptitude for working with other 
university faculty and area education stakeholders in service/outreach 
programs sponsored by the department.  While NWOSU is primarily a 
teaching institution, scholarly research endeavors will be encouraged 
and supported by the department to the extent possible.
