TT at Atlanta Metropolitan State College

Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Physics and Engineering. Atlanta Metropolitan State College currently serves 3000 commuting students on a beautifully landscaped campus, which is located 10 minutes south of downtown Atlanta, and 15 minutes north of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

This is a full-time, tenure track, ten-month faculty position, which reports to the Dean of the Division of Science Mathematics and Health Professions. Applicants should display an interest in promoting the development of the science program, which includes undergraduate research initiatives. The applicant must have a history of effective teaching at the collegiate level and possess knowledge of current trends in science education and educational technologies (e.g. Web-based and/or Web-enhanced instruction). The position also requires serving on division and college committees, assisting in the development and improvement of the science curriculum, and advising students.

A Doctorate degree with eighteen graduate semester hours (thirty-quarter hours) in Engineering and/or Physics is required. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise and experience in on-line instruction and/or certification in a related field. The successful candidate will have experience providing instruction to students from diverse backgrounds, while effectively collaborating and cooperating with other members of the faculty, staff and administration.

Monday through Friday 8:30 am until 5:15 pm some weekends and evenings may be required.
