STEM Ed / Evaluation Manager, Connecticut Science Center


Job Title:                    STEM Education and Evaluation Manager

Job Purpose:             Work with the Science Center’s Program team on the development and evaluation of STEM-related programming for grades PreK-12 students and teachers

Reporting to:             Vice President of Programs


Primary Responsibilities
·         Participate in the development and implementation of Science/STEM-related educational programs for grade PreK-12 students
·         Participate in the development and implementation of Science/STEM-related professional development programs for grade PreK-12 teachers
·         Prepare evaluation plans including the design of evaluation protocols and instruments for collecting data to be used in assessing educational outcomes among student and teacher audiences, including case study work with CSC partner schools
·         Coordinate and execute evaluation plans associated with the above programs and projects including data collection, analysis and reporting
·         Manage the archiving of assessment data and relevant literature regarding informal and formal science/STEM learning and practices
·         Prepare summary reports and presentations and regularly report progress on educational program development and outcomes
·         Participate in state and national informal and formal science/STEM education and research/evaluation networks including, CSTA, CSSA, NSTA, ASTC, and NARST,
·         Coordinate with the Development Department to identify, write and prepare grant submissions to support the institutions STEM education initiatives with schools

Requirements
·         Advanced degree in education or science/STEM related field
·         Minimum 3-years of experience in classroom instruction, school administration or
      informal science/STEM education
·         Experience designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative research and
evaluation
·         Familiarity with Survey Monkey or similar on-line survey platforms
·         Experience with data management and protocols
·         Understanding of current research on informal and formal science education, especially
as it applies to grade PreK-12 students and teachers
·         Familiarity with State and National science and mathematics standards including the
Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core State Standards preferred
·         Strong presentation and communication skills
·         Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff and subcontracts
·         Previous grant-writing experience preferred
·         Ability to work effectively as part of a comprehensive program team
