Carleton College welcomes applications for a Visiting 
Lecturer to develop a program providing science education training, 
support, and community outreach. This is a full-time position for the 
academic year beginning September 1, 2013, with the possibility of 
renewal for up to two additional years, and is eligible for the Colleges
 benefit program. The ideal candidate will have completed a PhD in 
Science Education (or a related field), will have earned a licensure in 
secondary science teaching (in any field), will have at least one year 
of secondary science teaching experience, and will be interested in 
engaging with both students and faculty from all fields of science and 
math.
Teaching duties will include organizing and teaching a year-long 
science and math education colloquium, and a Methods of Teaching Science
 course. The candidate will also organize workshops for student science 
teaching assistants, coordinate multiple science education related 
outreach programs in the community, and lead independent studies that 
connect science and education broadly.
