RESPONSIBILITIES: A tenure-track faculty position in physics at
the Assistant Professor level is anticipated in the Physical Sciences
Department beginning in Fall 2013. The Department has 10 full time
faculty members and offers programs leading to BS degrees in Chemistry
(including ACS Certified) and Physics. The successful candidate will be
expected to teach freshman courses in general physics and advanced
courses in quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, optics, electronics,
and thermodynamics, as well as specific general education courses
such as Descriptive Physics, Astronomy and General Physical Science. In
addition, while excellence in teaching is the main criterion, the
ability to direct meaningful undergraduate research is also essential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in
Physics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Full time post-doctoral and teaching experience in higher education.
