Job Title	Assistant Professor of Physics

Position Summary	Full-time faculty position in the Department of Engineering and Physics, in the School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering. Faculty prepares lessons, laboratories, teaches in the classroom, advises students, and provides individual help during office hours. Faculty conduct scholarship that involves undergraduate and/or graduate students. Faculty also perform service to the university community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities	Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in introductory algebra-based and calculus-based Physics courses plus laboratories. These courses include topics in mechanics, heat, waves, sounds, electricity and magnetism, light, optics, and related laboratories. Preference will be given to candidates with interest and experience in teaching both to non-science and science majors. Appointee will be expected to coordinate multi-section courses, with participating full and part-time faculty colleagues.
Required Education	Applicants must have a Ph.D in Physics , Engineering, or a related field.
Required Experience	Applicants must have college-level teaching experience, with undergraduate teaching experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications	Priority will be given to candidates with strong skills and experience in teaching. In that context, preference will be given to candidates with interest and experience in teaching a diverse population of students and using computers and advanced technology to enhance the educational experience of students.
