TT at Brevard College NC

Brevard College seeks an enthusiastic teacher to fill a tenure-track, nine month faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Physics, beginning Fall 2014.  Applicants must be interested in teaching high-quality, engaged physics courses at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, introductory physics, physical science for teachers, and an upper-level physics course. A mathematics course such as pre-calculus will be part of the regular rotation. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience at the college level.

The successful candidate will have access to the research facilities at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute that includes lab space, optical and radio telescopes, and data center computational facilities. Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate potential to create experiential opportunities for students including student research. The applicant should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research at the undergraduate level.
