Full time Tenure-track Faculty Position

Position

Olympic College is recruiting to fill a full-time faculty position to teach Physics in the Division of Math, Engineering, Science & Health, Beginning Fall Quarter, 2014.

Salary
  • Per Olympic College Board of Trustees approved salary schedule based on education and qualified experience
  • Contract includes medical, dental, disability, life and retirement benefits.
Examples of Responsibilities
  • Teach Physics course(s) in accordance with college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines
  • Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading
  • Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested
  • Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required
  • Provide academic advising and assessment for students
  • Hold office hours for student consultation
  • Attend faculty, department, and division meetings and serve on appropriate committees
  • May include evening instruction
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Physics required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • PhD degree in Physics or related field
  • College teaching experience.

Conditions of Employment
  • This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position.
  • May require day/evening/weekend teaching assignments when necessary.
  • Official college transcripts required if hired.
  • Must pass a criminal background records check.
  • Must become a member of the Association for Higher Education (AHE) or pay a representation fee on or before the thirtieth day following the beginning of employment.
  • If you are hired, you will need to provide proof of identity and documentation of U.S. citizenship or appropriate authorization to work in this position as required by the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986.
Working conditions

This job requires punctual and regular attendance. This position is in a typical classroom and/or office.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position. The employee may be required to lift and carry equipment and supplies of up to 30 pounds.
