FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Natural Sciences Department invites applications to teach undergraduate physics and engineering courses.
Other responsibilities include related course and curriculum development; research and scholarly activities leading to professional growth; student guidance; and participation in departmental and college assignments. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent.  Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Doctorate or an equivalent degree from an accredited university in the discipline of physics and/or engineering  
- Demonstrated evidence of significant success in teaching, achievement in his/her field, and continued growth
- Teaching experience in an urban multiethnic setting and experience in collaborating with students on research projects
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
