TT at American University

American University, Washington, DC Department of Physics The Department of Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position: Assistant Professor of Physics. Preference will be given to an experimental physicist with the ability to form research partnerships with science institutions in the Washington, DC area. Responsibilities include: teaching courses across the physics curriculum from General Education courses to upper-level major electives; establishing an externally-funded research program that can involve undergraduate research participation; and service to the department and University. The Department of Physics offers a BS in physics with tracks in traditional, chemical, and computational physics as well as minors in physics and applied physics. To be considered, applicants must have a PhD in physics or related discipline, post-doctoral experience preferred. For more information about our program, see www.american.edu/cas/physics.
