TT, Midwestern State, TX

Midwestern State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in physics at the assistant professor level to begin Fall 2017.  A Ph.D. in physics is required.  Prior teaching experience at the university level is preferred.  Area of specialization is open to any area of physics.  Responsibilities will include teaching physics for non-majors, teaching advanced undergraduate courses within the joint degree program of the Texas Physics Consortium, and overseeing undergraduate student research projects.  Please send a cover letter describing relevant experience, CV, names and contact information for three people willing to serve as professional references, copies of unofficial transcripts (undergraduate and graduate), statement of teaching philosophy, and statement outlining planned research (stating how undergraduate students will be directly involved).  All application materials should be sent via email as a single PDF file to Sheila Tucker at sheila.tucker@mwsu.edu.  Review of applications will begin October 10, 2016.  This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.  EEO/ADAAA compliance employer
