Position Summary:
The Department of Physics at Villanova University is seeking applications for a tenure track position with the rank of Assistant Professor starting in Fall 2017. The teaching load is 5 courses per academic year. We seek applicants committed to the teacher-scholar model as Villanova is a Liberal Arts & Sciences University with a focus on undergraduate education. The successful candidate should demonstrate high potential for teaching as well as for initiating and maintaining a productive research program, including the active participation of undergraduate students and the ability to attract external funding. Preference will be given to areas that enhance and complement existing research in the department in astrophysics, biological physics, nanoscale condensed matter, and solid state physics.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to maintaining an active research agenda leading to publication, our new colleague will teach undergraduate courses in Physics, in a way that fosters connections across the discipline and the Villanova community.

Minimum Qualifications:
Outstanding research potential and excellence in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD and post-doctoral experience in Physics or a closely allied field is preferred.
