TT at Eastern Michigan

Physics Education: The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the area of physics/physics education, starting fall 2009. Responsibilities include teaching a full range of classes (from introductory to graduate level) in physics and science education, strengthening existing programs in physics, physical science, and integrated science, and involving undergraduate and graduate students in research. Applicants must have at least a master's degree plus 18 semester-hours. Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. in physics, or a master's degree in physics and doctorate in science education; a strong commitment to undergraduate education; postdoctoral experience in physics research or physics education research; experience or an agenda for integrating computation into the core physics courses; and experience in or demonstrable knowledge of secondary science education and teacher preparation.
