Two positions at the University of Kentucky

Science Education: Associate or full professor. Responsibilities: Assignment negotiated but 50% PIMSER component will include engagement and outreach activities with the P-20 communities, such as partnership with P-12 schools on curriculum development and implementation, professional development, and integration of technology. These activities will be expected to add to the research base on STEM education. Other responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate and graduate science education courses, advising graduate students, collaborating with STEM faculty and external constituencies in pursuing and implementing funded projects, publishing research, and providing service to the community and profession. Positions provide opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues in education and the STEM disciplines in the design of research, courses, programs, and professional development initiatives. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in science education or other science field with significant research and teaching experience in science education; an established research program and recognition in the field. Minimum of three years of elementary, middle, or secondary teaching experience is preferred; commitment to excellence in teaching and to innovative teacher preparation programs; ability to establish collaborative relationships with university and school personnel; and experience in using technology in teaching.
