The Physics department at Marquette University invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure track position as a visiting assistant professor to begin August 2013. The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, and is seeking candidates with a Ph.D. in physics or astronomy and a strong interest in undergraduate teaching. The physics department is active in involving undergraduate students in faculty research. The faculty offer much support to the students, and with a low faculty to student ratio, the learning environment is personal and friendly. The successful candidate will teach courses in undergraduate physics and related areas. Preferred qualifications include the ability to engage undergraduate students in research, and the ability to teach nuclear physics and modern physics laboratory.
Candidates should include teaching experience, publications, and three
letters of recommendation, addressing the candidate's teaching
qualifications and research. Formal review of applications will begin
